FAQ
-
How much will the repair cost?
Each instrument is unique, so I always provide a personalized estimate after inspecting the instrument. Once you approve the estimate, I’ll begin the work. I also have a general price list available to give you an idea of typical service costs—but final pricing depends on the specific condition of your instrument.
-
How long will the repair take?
The timeline for your repair will be provided along with your estimate. Some jobs may require ordering specific parts, and I’ll always keep you informed about shipping times or any potential delays. Turnaround time varies depending on the complexity of the repair, which is why we’ll give you a time estimate once we’ve had a chance to examine the instrument. Need it sooner? A rush service is available for an additional fee.
-
How often should I get my instrument serviced?
I recommend a full evaluation and deep cleaning at least once a year. If the instrument has been well cared for, it may not need major repairs—just a seasonal adjustment to keep it in top shape. For marching band instruments, I suggest a check-up every 6 months, as they’re often exposed to sun, rain, and varying temperatures. Of course, you're always welcome to schedule an appointment anytime you feel your instrument needs attention or a second opinion.
-
Do you use original manufacturer parts?
Great question! Whenever possible, I use original manufacturer parts. If a part is discontinued, I rely on trusted suppliers to find the best possible replacement. If the original part is available, I’ll be sure to use it. In cases where it’s not, I’ll offer high-quality aftermarket parts that perform just as well—and I’ll always discuss your options with you, so you're informed every step of the way.
-
Will my instrument play like new after the repair?
That is always my goal. After a thorough repair and careful play-testing, I strive to get your instrument playing at its absolute best. Depending on its condition, it may not feel brand new—but it will be clean, well-adjusted, and performing at the highest level it can reach. I take pride in making sure every instrument leaves my bench in excellent playing condition.
-
Can I ship my instrument to you?
Absolutely! I understand that shipping an instrument can feel stressful, and I’m here to help make the process as smooth as possible. You're welcome to ship your instrument using the carrier of your choice, and I strongly recommend purchasing insurance that reflects the value of your instrument. Please make sure it’s securely packed—double-boxing is ideal—and include your contact information inside the case. While I’ll notify you as soon as your instrument arrives, please note that I am not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur during shipping. Return shipping will be discussed before the instrument is sent back to ensure everything is clear and protected.
